Curriculum Vitae
Building communities within dance is a strong priority for me. As a Queer woman, it is
important to me that all students feel safe, seen, included, and celebrated in dance. Dance has
long been confined by its archaic perpetuation of unhealthy body ideals and notions of who is
allowed to dance. I consider it a personal mission to help break down those barriers to access.
My experience teaching at an independent boarding school has helped me see the importance of
dance education to students in a high-achieving academic environment, especially when those
students may not feel as welcome in other program areas. By establishing rapport, creating
accessible, relevant, and exciting curriculums, and prioritizing student voices, my students feel
comfortable in my classroom and empowered to push themselves beyond their preconceived
limitations.
